Our journey to one of the farthermost, out-of-reach, remote places on the planet: Kjøllefjord.
Cathrine’s homeland.
A 24-hour voyage from Tromsø to Kjøllefjord where we got our first taste of endless light and Norway’s magnificent ‘Midnight Sun’or ‘Midnattsol’.
Interestingly, these are the same cruise liners people catch during winter, in hope of getting a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights. As Cathrine tells us, the weather conditions need to be SO specific that most well-wishers end up sailing around in total darkness without seeing a single thing!
Money well spent.
Luckily for us the Midnight Sun is far easier to spy – you just need to cross your fingers the bloody fog doesn’t fill the sky.
