There they sit,

Suffering in silence.

Motionless and stiff,

Suffering in silence.

Capable and strong,

Each in their own right.

Buoyant is their friendship,

To one another’s personal plight.

Surely their tears must burst,

In the solitude of an empty wood.

Just as a fallen tree nobody hears-

An existence denied of being mourned or understood.
